A Message from Craig A. Eaton, Chairman, Kings County GOP
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
It is an honor and a privilege for me to formally announce the Kings County Republican Party's endorsement of Joe Mendola for Comptroller, Alex Zablocki for Public Advocate, Marc D'Ottavio for Borough President and Gene Berardelli for the 46th District City Council race.
These young men are aggressive, articulate and energetic professionals who truly represent the future of the GOP in the City and State of New York. They have the necessary skills, drive and ambition that our future leaders need to have in order to meet the challenges presently facing the City, and the challenges ahead.
We are blessed in Kings County to have such a dynamic elected official as our very own State Sen Marty Golden. He has worked with us, side by side, for over 10 years in public office and I am proud to call him my friend, my neighbor and my Senator. We need to increase the ranks of Republican elected officials in Brooklyn and throughout this City and State. This is just the beginning of a renaissance in the Republican Party statewide, and we need each and every one of you present today to join this fight and become part of the Victory team.
If we are to grow as a party and as a city, then we must rally around bright young candidates like Gene, Marc, Joe and Alex - to send a message that change is coming, change which is desperately needed to insure for the success of the Republican Party. It has been a long time since we had candidates such as these gentlemen, and other young and energetic candidates in others parts of this great City, and to me it is a breath of fresh air, and the dawn of a new beginning for the GOP.
If only the GOP at the State and Federal levels could learn from the example we are setting by supporting such fine individuals. The days of the career politician needs to become a thing of the past. We need to look forward and not backwards. We need to encourage young men and women to seek out public office, to join our fight to change government and to make a difference. It is in this way, and only this way, that we can build a bull pen of candidates ready, willing and able to move up the ranks of the Republican Party, so that in future years we will have viable candidates for each office, each and every one of them, chomping at the bit to make a difference. Ladies and gentlemen, I encourage each and every one of you to become part of this change, part of this movement, part of this rennaissance, and it all begins here.
Let us all work together to insure for the victory of these fine candidates who will themselves make a difference and insure for a new future for New York City politics.
These candidates have stepped up to the plate whenever called to service in the Kings County GOP and for this reason, not only does the County endorse them, but I personally and enthusiastically endorse each of them for the offices they are seeking.
Let us roll up our sleeves and work together to insure for their victories in November.
